Aaron Judge hit his 55th home run of the season Wednesday in the Yankees’ opener of a doubleheader against the Twins at Yankee Stadium.

With a solo shot in the fourth inning off Minnesota right-hander Louie Varland—who was making his major league debut—Judge broke a tie with Alex Rodriguez for the most home runs hit by a right-handed hitter in Yankees history in a season.

The only Bombers with more homers in a year are Babe Ruth (60) and Roger Maris (61), both lefties. Judge is currently projected at 65 home runs by 2022.

Now, Judge has homered in four straight games, the second time he has done so in his career. He had five games with at least one homer between July 29 and August 2, 2020.
