A success National Indigenous Sports Meeting Morelos 2022

  • Athletes from 15 different states of the country lived a warm and unforgettable sports stay in Morelos territory
  • The state crew hung a total of five medals: silver in soccer; silver and two bronzes in athletics; as well as bronze in basketball

The general director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), Germán Villa Castañeda, reported that the 2022 National Indigenous Sports Meeting successfully concluded, a fair that the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) allocated to the entity with the conviction of being one of the best sporting events this year.

He explained that in the men’s branch basketball discipline, the local squad was bathed in bronze thanks to the fact that the players won the duel for third place against the Chiapas team, coming from below with an unforgettable comeback in the last minutes of the commitment and capturing a score of 51-47 in favor of the state crew.

Germán Villa specified that in the discipline that Morelos wore convincingly was in athletics, because in the cross country and route modalities he took the silver and tan metal through Ayari Saldívar from xoxocotlan; likewise, in the 4×1 kilometer mixed relay modality, Ayari herself, along with Carlos Ramos, Melissa Olea and the pride of Totolapan Miguel Ávila, won one more bronze.

“The fifth medal for the Morelos delegation was silver thanks to the fact that the women’s soccer team reached the grand final against Veracruz, drawing 1-1 in regular time and being heartily beaten in the penalty shootout; however, their efforts toasting on the field of play are applauded, since all the players gave their maximum effort, ”he indicated.

Finally, Germán Villa thanked the Conade and the Federation of Native and Traditional Games and Sports for trusting Morelos and allocating the tenth edition of the National Indigenous Sports Meeting, as well as the municipality of Jantetelco headed by its municipal president Ángel Augusto Domínguez Sánchez for collaborating to host the athletics discipline.
