a fall for Rouen, Mont-de-Marsan alone in the lead

Rouen lost its first game of the season in Grenoble (20-6) on Friday and gave up the leader’s chair in Mont-de-Marsan which won at home against Oyonnax (26-15) in the shock of the 4th Pro D2 day.

Grenoble suddenly jumped in the standings, going from eighth to second place with thirteen points, one less than Stade Montois but one better than Rouen (3rd), Aurillac (4th) and Colomiers (5th).

Aurillac beat the last at home, Massy (36-29), and Colomiers won by one point (22-21) at Agen (11th) who still took the defensive bonus point.

Oyonnax is sixth on Friday evening, three points behind Mont-de-Marsan.

Before the day, Rouen were the last Pro D2 team still undefeated. The series ended in Grenoble which scored three tries (without cashing in) by Karim Qadiri (10th, 16th) and Bautista Ezcurra (61st). Enough to give him the point of the offensive bonus, Rouen having scored only two penalties by Thibault Olender. The rear Marius Marty (69th) had thought he had gone to the test, but it was refused after watching the video.

Thursday, Biarritz Olympique, relegated to Pro D2 after a nightmare season in the top flight, snatched the 22-22 draw at Nevers at the start of the day. The BO is 14th and Nevers 9th.
