Zverev shares his uncertainty about his presence at the US Open

Alexander Zverev was making an express visit this morning in Hamburg to meet with David Ferrer at an event with which they confirmed that the number two in the world will be present in the qualifying phase of the Davis cup at the end of the year which is held in Hamburg, with the final phase played in Malaga. Now, with the US tour on the line, there is little chance the German will achieve anything big this summer, although Zverev is working to return as prepared as possible. This was explained to the media this morning, in statements distributed by the DPA Agency.

10 days countdown

Zverev, whose most immediate desire is to reach the last Grand Slam of the year, explained to the media that he will know this decision in about ten days: “I hope to be able to reach the US Open. I’m not sure he can participate. I could say I’m ready if it was a normal three-set tournament. That the first tournament after returning from the injury is the best of five is complicated, ”said the German.

about diabetes

Alexander shared a few days ago that he suffered from this disease along with the creation of a foundation with which he will help other young people who suffer from it: “Many things can be achieved with this disease. My goal is to encourage many other children and their parents, simply not to set any limits. Luckily, I have my diabetes under control.”

Davis Cup in Hamburg

Hamburg will be one of the venues for this 2022 Davis Cup along with Valencia, Bologna and Glasgow. His greatest representative on the circuit will be playing in the German city: Alexander Zverev. Germany is in the group with France, Belgium and Australia: “I’ve already started training hard to be able to compete in the Davis Cup, there’s no doubt I’ll be there. It will be a home match, something special, very different from playing an ATP tournament. It will be a turning point for me this season, as well as for the whole team”, said Sascha.
