TORONTO (SID) – Former tennis world number one Viktoria Asarenka cannot take part in the WTA tournament in Toronto next week. As the 33-year-old from Belarus announced, the Canadian authorities have refused her a visa.
“It’s a real disappointment, I’m really sad to miss one of my favorite tournaments,” wrote the two-time Grand Slam winner on Twitter. Asarenka now wants to return to the tour a week later at the tournament in Cincinnati/USA.
