with diabetes, Zverev creates a foundation for diabetics

The “Alexander Zverev Foundation” will aim to help people with diabetes, which the tennis player reveals to have suffered since he was three years old.

Away from the courts since his serious injury in the Roland-Garros semi-final against Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev has revealed that he has diabetes since the age of three. The 25-year-old German tennis player took advantage of these revelations to announce the launch of the “Alexander Zverev Foundation”, intended to help sick people.

Through his foundation, the current world number 2 wishes to be able to provide the necessary care to people in need. “If a diabetic child is not treated, he dies, whereas one can lead a perfectly normal and happy life with the right treatment. I want to help provide the necessary equipment to those who need it and allow these children to live a long life.“, justified the person concerned.

Zverev also wants to reflect through his career that illness is not an end in itself. “With this foundation, I want to send the message to parents and children around the world that there are no limits except those that you impose on yourself.»
