Christian Bono, Matthew Bono, and Nehemiah Turban were three teenage Florida children who were aspiring avid baseball players who tragically died in a car accident in 2020.
Christian and Matthew were brothers who drove down Southwest California Boulevard while the three teammates were on the same baseball crew.
Who was Florida-born Christian Bono?
Florida high school student Christian Bono was killed in a car accident along with two completely different teenagers, one of whom was his teenage brother.
Along with his brother Matthew Bono, Bono played college baseball at St. Lucie West Centennial High School. Nehemiah, a member of Treasure Coast High School’s college baseball crew, was one of all his buddies to be injured during the incident.
When the catastrophe happened, Christian was just 16 years old; his brother was 15; and his sidekick Turban was 16. They were on the similar little league touring team and were good friends.
Accidental death of Christian Bono
In early August 2020, Christian Bono and Nehemiah Turban died in a car accident, his brother Matthew was seriously injured.
According to an investigation into the collision, at the time of the crash, 16-year-old Christian was the driving force and 16-year-old Turban was the passenger. Authorities say Bono hit a monkey pole because he was going too short to make a big turn near Southwest California Boulevard and Southwest Heatherwood Boulevard.
While the 15-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious accidents and handed over on August 5th after current treatment, the two boys in the front seats died at the scene of the crime. Christian was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry at an extreme speed score, which resulted in him dropping administration and driving towards oncoming guests rather than colliding with the concrete pole.
Obituaries for the dead teenagers
In an obituary for the boys and a memorial to their school’s lack of college students, Christian Bono and Turban’s school wrote: “Absolutely, these two young men made excellent boys. It’s a terrible loss for both high schools and both programs.”
A memorial to Christian and Turban was erected near the site of the accident by friends, family and faculty in honor of the young people who died. The death of the young children prompted the whole town to come together to help and offer condolences to the mother and father of the deceased.
Two weeks after the disaster, Bono and Turban celebrated a memorial service together, and all teams mourned their displaced Little League-themed enthusiastic players. A lady from her school organized a fundraiser to help the family by raising $77,000 for the funeral and hospital costs of the two boys.
