Werder Bremen: Niklas Schmidt reveals – although his girlfriend “must not disturb him” | Sports

Macho saying from Werder-Star |

Although his girlfriend is not allowed to “disturb” him

He’s a principled man!

Bremen star Niklas Schmidt (24) is not just an ordinary football professional. The offensive man loves his sport – and even forgoes time with his loved ones.

Schmidt revealed this on Wednesday. The Werder pro: “For me, football is more than just a sport. When it comes to football, I’m really a connoisseur.”

And further: “If I watch any games, then my girlfriend must not disturb.”

Spontaneous macho attack or proof of unrestricted love for football?

On the pitch, Schmidt has at least every reason to be in love with the round leather at the moment. With his team from Bremen, he won 3-2 in Dortmund last weekend.

Werder turned a deficit of 0:2 in the last six minutes – also thanks to Schmidt!

He was substituted on as a super joker by coach Ole Werner (34) and made it 2-2 in the third minute of added time.

Schmidt on his first Bundesliga goal: “I’ve never had such emotions. I watched it a lot afterwards. When I got up in the morning and fell asleep in the evening, I wanted to think about that moment again. It is a childhood dream that has come true for me.”

In addition to the short-term ecstasy, Schmidt, who was loaned to Osnabrück in the second division for two years from 2019 to 2021, can also draw confidence for future assignments and tasks from his BVB goal.

Born in Kassel: “The game showed me that I can play at a high level. Regardless of the opponent, I can take control of the game and decide. That gives me security.”

As the original Hesse, the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday has no additional meaning for him. Schmidt explains: “We never had points of contact with Frankfurt. We North Hesse are rather modest, in South Hesse it’s a bit different.”
