The Benfica of Jan Vertonghen in david neres has done well in the battle for a Champions League ticket. In the first leg of the third qualifying round, the two former Ajax players won 4-1 against FC Midtjylland. Neres started, delivered two assists and was substituted after 86 minutes. Vertonghen remained on the bench for the entire game.
