The 2022-2023 season of the Varese basketball will officially start on Friday 19th August. This will be the date on which the boys of coach Brase will begin their journey with the red and white shirt between the usual medical examinations and the first “stalks” on the Masnago parquet. From 23 to 27 Ferrero and his companions will leave for Gressoney, a splendid tourist resort in the Aosta Valley, which for the third consecutive year will host the Openjobmetis retreat and then return to the foot of the Sacro Monte where they will continue the preparation in view of the first engagement official friendly which will be on Saturday 10 September in the opening match of the International Tournament – City of Cagliari against Olimpia Milano (18:00).
In case of victory, the red and white will play the final on Sunday 11 at 20:30 against the winner of Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari and Panathinaikos Athens; in case of defeat, however, at 18 there will be the final for the third and fourth place. Thursday 15 September will be the turn of the Lombardia Trophy to be held in Desio against Olimpia Milano at 21:00. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September the Openjobmetis will be involved in a quadrangular race in Trento that will involve Verona, Naples and the hosts of the Dolomiti Energia (times and pairing still to be determined), while on Wednesday 21 at 20:30 the red and white will host at the Palasport ” Lino Oldrini ”Urania Milan. Varese will close its preseason on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September by participating in the “Matteo Bertolazzi” Memorial to be held at the PalaCiti in Parma and which will also involve Brescia, Reggio Emilia and Trento.
