Unusual > Serena Williams (in her autobiography “On the line”, 2009): “To be completely honest with you, I’m not even sure that I want to be remembered as a champion of tennis”

It is always in books that we learn the most things.

That of Serena Williams: “Sur la Ligne” published by Michel Lafon published in 2009 is therefore a little treasure now that the legend has decided to end her career.

Besides, when we dive back into it, we find a nice little nugget on the last page of this fascinating bio.

“Journalists and supporters often ask me what image I would like to leave at the end of my career, and I have never been able to find a satisfactory answer. To be completely honest with you, I’m not even sure I want to be remembered as a tennis champion. When the time comes for me to stop chasing balls on the court, I’ll do something else, and maybe that’s when I’ll make an impression. Maybe tennis is just a phase of my life.”
