Trapani basketball, 5 new signings presented

It was held this afternoon at the beach SunClub in Trapani the press conference to present the five new signings of the 2B Control Trapani Myles Carter, De’Riante Jenkins, Omar Dieng, Marco Rupil e Kiryl Tsetserukou. In front of a good public setting, the new granata athletes answered the questions of the journalists present.

The press conference, moderated by the club manager Dario Gentilewas opened by the intervention of the general manager of 2B Control Trapani Valentino Renzi: «Being present at the SunClub has become a ritual that we care a lot about and we sincerely thank the managers of the beach for the trust they place in us every year. Carter, Jenkins, Dieng, Rupil and Tsetserukou will be important players, who chose Trapani in the summer despite the various offers. The team is very young but this is an advantage because the growth of our company will also pass from their desire and ambition. I wish them to improve and entertain the fans ».

The opening technical intervention was that of coach Daniele Parente who illustrated to those present the principles on which he based his choices: “The players who remained did so convinced and eager to continue the good things done last year. The new arrivals are all young people with high hopes who have a lot to prove. The average age is 23, perhaps the youngest in the league, and we know that this will lead to many ups and downs in the short term but, through the weekly work, in small steps, we will be able to take away a lot of satisfaction. Compared to the past, we want to field a lot of athleticism to combine with a technical-tactical growth of the players who, given their young age, have little experience on the field. We have a flexible team, with players without fixed roles who can do many things and this was the criterion on which we built the team ”.

The first players to be presented were the 2 USA who commented as follows:

Myles Carter (center 2B Control Trapani): “I am sure that Trapani is the right place to relaunch me and to show what kind of player I am. When I spoke to the coach in the summer he told me that he does not expect me to score 30 points per game but that he is a leader and a point of reference for the team and my teammates. This is my goal and I don’t want to disappoint anyone; I know that if we work hard we can take away a lot of satisfaction and we can reach the playoffs.

De’Riante Jenkins (guard 2B Control Trapani): “It is my first experience in Italy but basketball is basketball at all latitudes. I know that on average here the players are very strong and very physical but I can and I want to show that I am up to this level. I like the city very much, the weather is perfect and my teammates are exceptional. Here at the moment there are all the conditions to express oneself at best and I want to take away a lot of satisfaction ”.

These are the statements of the other three new signings of the group:

Kiryl Tsetserukou (center 2B Control Trapani): «I have been in Italy for 8 years now, I am a very versatile player and I always put myself at the disposal of the technical staff and my teammates. Last season was a good springboard for me and my goal is to grow and improve. I will always give my best for the group and the team, I am happy to have found strong and talented teammates who will be able to cover my back whenever I am in difficulty ».

Marco Rupil (play / guard 2B Control Trapani): «For me it will be the last season as an“ under ”and, after the troubled year in Orzinuovi, I really want to show that I can be an important player for the category. I think my best quality is shooting but thanks to the work in the gym and the coach’s teachings I will be able to add many skills to my technical background ».

Omar Dieng
(2B Control Trapani winger): «This year I expect to raise the bar of my game to become an increasingly complete player. In my career I left something pending and I chose Trapani because I know it can be the right place to challenge myself and to grow as a man and as a player ».
