Transfers: Houssem Aouar (OL) agrees with Nottingham Forest

Houssem Aouar, who has long dreamed of the Premier League, has agreed with Nottingham Forest on the terms of a transfer, one year from the end of his contract with OL, as announced by several media.

It’s probably not the kind of club he was hoping for in 2020, the day after his remarkable Champions League Final 8 in Lisbon, but the last two seasons haven’t gone as he might have hoped, despite his first selection for the France team, in the fall of 2020.

At 24, the Lyon midfielder has agreed to a five-year contract, but, according to our information, this does not necessarily mean that he will join the European champion club in 1979 and 1980. D First because he is said to be hesitant when making a decision of this importance for his future, then because OL and Nottingham Forest have not yet managed to reach an agreement.

OL would claim 15 M€

For his last year of contract, OL would claim around €15m, which is not inaccessible to a Premier League club, but Forest have already recruited fourteen players (!) for more than €120m, and again, by bringing in Lingard, Kouyaté and Hennessey who were free. The last offer from the English club would amount to 10 M€ and bonuses on resale, which did not convince the Lyon decision-makers.

Note that Crystal Palace has also expressed interest.
