Ibizans Ricardo Rettig, Carmen Jiménez and Macarena Izquierdo won the bronze medal with the Spanish team at the European Junior Badminton Championship selection tournament held in Belgrade (Serbia).
The participation of the Spanish junior team ended yesterday with the team climbing to the third place on the podium in the queen team competition at the continental level. The Spanish team could not fight for gold after falling in the semifinals against France by a tight 2-3, a match in which the Ibizan Ricardo Retting participated, who fell to the French number one 21-6.
The team led by Ernesto García, coach of UD Ibiza Pitiús, had Rettig and Jiménez for the competition, while Izquierdo rested due to injury to focus on the individual competition that starts in Belgrade.
