The young starlet stunned France. In the first match for Monaco, he scored a hat-trick

Czech rugby broke through in France in an unprecedented way. Slavist winger Adam Miřácký laid down three fives in his first ever match in the Supersevens rugby sevens series.

The Monaco team, whose jersey the young star started to wear this week, won the first half of the match against Toulouse 21:0, and overall 40:7.

The team from the Mediterranean principality became the winner of the tournament organized in the port of La Rochelle on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to the only eighteen-year-old Czech representative.

Monaco won all four matches on Saturday, including the final. Miřácký added another five.

“Revelation,” headlined the French daily Matin’s article about the Czech rugby player’s debut appearance in the competition.

The commentary praised Miřácký’s ferocity and speed, even comparing his explosiveness to dragsters, i.e. cars or motorcycles intended for sprints over shorter distances. The organizers chose the celebrant among the four biggest discoveries of the tournament.

At the same time, the Slavia Praha rugby player has only been working at the Monaco club for a week. “I’ve found an extremely friendly environment here, it’s amazing here,” praised the forward.

Miřácký was brought to Monaco by team coach and former French Olympian Jérémy Aicardi. He recently started working in Czech rugby as a consultant, on the recommendation of Miroslav Němeček, coach of the national team of classic rugby. Both played together professionally in France in the Oyonnax team.

“First match, three fives, what more could you want!” commented Aicardi with a smile on the performance of the young star. Miřácký caught his attention at the summer European Championship in Krakow, Poland, where the slavist scored more than half of all fives of the Czech national team.

Saturday’s tournament in La Rochelle was the second event of the four-legged Supersevens series. Monaco finished second in the first part, the third tournament is being played already this weekend in the southern French Gascony city of Pau. The culmination of the series will then be hosted by Paris in November. In the modern district of La Défense, a covered hall with a capacity of 32,000 spectators will be created.

However, the young representative remains a player of extra-league Slavia and should participate in several autumn matches of the domestic XV Cup.

Already on September 3, Miřácký, together with the Czech under-20 national team, will appear in the European Championship qualifier against Poland. The match is played in Říčany in Central Bohemia.
