the Standard could recover 800,000 euros!

Will Standard recover some money? When Lucas Pirard transferred to Saint-Trond in 2016, the latter had no transfer fee to pay. But Standard had a right of first refusal in the event of resale for a fine of 800,000 euros, the estimated value of the player.

However, when the former Rouches goalkeeper left for Waasland-Beveren in 2019, Saint-Trond did not notify the main club. He therefore turned to the Belgian Court of Arbitration for Sport (CBAS) which, at the time, had not given him reason, considering that the people of Liège were only entitled to 125,000 euros, i.e. the total transfer fee from Pirard to Waasland-Beveren.

Suddenly, the Standard attempted an action before the civil justice which has just given him reason. The file will therefore go back to the CBAS with a good chance that, this time, the verdict will be favorable to Standard.
