Bima Sakti got a lot of blasphemy before successfully bringing the U-16 Indonesian National Team to win the U-16 AFF Cup. He was never angry, as long as he was not labeled as a coach who took advantage of players.
The Indonesian national team made by Bima Sakti came out as champion after defeating Vietnam in the final. The only goal of the victory was scored by Kafiatur Rizky.
This sweet result is like an answer that the Milky Way can achieve achievements as a coach. His job as a tactician was in the spotlight when he failed to bring the senior Indonesian national team to compete in the group phase at the 2018 AFF Cup.
The public seems to have put a lot of hope in Bima after the departure of coach Luis Milla. The man who was born in Balikpapan had worked for almost two years as an assistant coach for Milla.
Bima is considered as incapable of adapting Luis Milla’s style of play. The Indonesian football legend was even teased as being more suitable to be a Physical Education teacher (physical education, sports and health).
“In fact, I thank all Indonesian football lovers, including netizens. I have also told my journalists that I don’t know what to say, because I can still learn a lot,” said Bima Sakti in a podcast on the Youtube Sport77 account.
“As long as I don’t call it a coach who takes players’ money, a coach who is not honest. If you say it’s a health and health coach coach, I accept it. It’s actually a prayer for me,” he continued.
Bima Sakti is truly grateful for the stamp given by the football public. Because of all that, he got a PGRI (Indonesian Teachers Association) membership card, which means that Bima can officially teach at any school.
“Because I was said to be a physical education coach, I was given an award by a teacher in Pekanbaru, a PGRI membership card. So, I am indeed a teacher. This is official, there is a number,” explained Bima Sakti while proudly showing off the PGRI membership card.
“This is in any school I can teach. But, teaching in the field of sports, yes,” said Bima.
