The Mascareignes Open is this weekend at the Saint-Paul IV high school gymnasium

Kick-off of the Open des Mascareignes this Saturday, August 20 at the Saint-Paul IV high school gymnasium in the presence of the Mayor of Saint-Paul, Emmanuel SERAPHIN and Patrick LEGROS, delegate for sport and sports equipment as well as Isabelle Érudel, departmental councillor, member of the Commission for Education, Culture, Sport and Mobility.

Several judo delegations came especially to our Commune, labeled active and sporting city: Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Rodrigues and the city of Sartrouville in the Yvelines. This Saturday, 85 cadets were present for this extraordinary competition organized by the French Judo League. Out of the ordinary, because the judokas had as spectators legends of this discipline to name only Guillaume Chaine, the Saint-Paulois gold medalist at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2020 in mixed teams or the judoka Cyrille Maret, champion of the 2016 Olympics.

Two days of competitions with Jujitsu and Ne-waza in demonstration this Sunday, August 21! Do not hesitate to come and discover these disciplines!

At the same time, Saint-Paul, labeled Terre de jeux 2024, is hosting the Itinéraire des champions. This tour of champions aims to promote this discipline in schools, high schools and colleges in several cities of Reunion.
