The Latvian 3×3 basketball team “Riga” remains without a ticket to the stage of the World Tour in Utrecht – Basketball – Apollo.lv – Sports

Kārlis Apsītis, Reinis Avotiņš, Randijs Feikners and Artūrs Grīnbergs played in the winning team, while Artūrs Ausējs, Edgars Krūmiņš, Mārtiņš Šteinbergs and Agnis Čavars were part of the “Riga” team in the final tournament.

In the match for the third place, the Ukrainian team “Ukraine-Kelts” defeated “Bauerfeind” with 21:19.

“Happy!” won all six games over the weekend, facing opposition only in the semi-final before the final, where they defeated the Ukrainian team 16:14. “Riga” had five convincing victories until the final, including in the semi-final against “Bauerfeind” – 21:11.

In Ventspils, 24 men’s teams from Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine fought for the main prize – a ticket to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Tour stage in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

Three teams participated in the women’s competition. In the subgroup, RSU won convincingly in both games, which immediately reached the final, while in the semi-final “Vecrīga” beat “Uzmini Nu!” with 14:12. In the final, RSU defeated “Vecrīga” 3×3 basketball players with 17:14.

Among the winners were Baiba Eglīte, Ieva Stefania Jundas, Kristina Petermane and Liza Chumika.

On Sunday, the best Latvian U-18 men’s teams also competed, playing for the main prize of the “Būvuzņēmuma Restaurators” tour – a paid trip to the international U-18 tournament in Cologne, Germany, on August 20 and 21.

In the final of this tournament, “Tīnuži” was superior to “Vilku Banda” team with 19:16. The winners included Salvis Garančs, Dāvis Kilēvics, Krišs Liepiņš and Adrian Visockis-Rubenis.

In the cup competition organized by the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS), 17 tournaments were held this summer – in Kandava, Daugavpils, Madona, Saulkrasti, Ķekava, Rūjien, Limbaži, Ogre, Jēkabpils, Valmiera, Salaspils, Dobele, Ventspils, Liepāja, Gulbene and Riga. 138 teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine started.

24 teams competed in the final tournament on the professional 3×3 basketball courts located on the territory of Ventspils State 1st Gymnasium, which won or won second place in the cup competition stages, as well as took higher places in the summer overall ranking.
