Pau Gasol announced his retirement last October at the age of 41after two decades at the top of basketball and with a second stage in Barcelona to say goodbye on the slopes.
The Catalan pivot left Barcelona to head for the NBA in 2001 with Memphis and in 2008 he made the leap to Los Angeles, with whom he won his two rings and was an NBA All-Star three times. He later played for the Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks.
