The Gunners open the league with a win

Arsenal opened their first Premier League week with a win over Crystal Palace. Cannon London beat The Eagles 2-0.

Selhurst Park will host the 2022/2023 Premier League opener. The stadium held a duel Crystal Palace against Arsenal, Saturday (6/8/2022) early morning WIB.

Arsenal led 1-0 in the first half through Gabriel Martinelli’s goal. The visitors doubled their lead in the second half through Marc Guehi’s own goal.

This result brings Arsenal to the top of the Premier League 2022/2023 standings with three points. Crystal Palace became the first team to lose in the new season and languish in the order distended.

The course of the match

Arsenal’s first opportunity was made in the seventh minute. Oleksandr Zinchenko’s shot from outside the penalty box could still be pushed over by Palace goalkeeper, Vicente Guaita.

GOL! Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. Gabriel Martinelli listed his name on the scoreboard.

Starting from a corner kick, the ball was passed by Zinchenko with his head and led to Martinelli who headed the ball into the net. Arsenal lead 1-0.

Arsenal continued to dominate the game after Martinelli’s goal. Gabriel Jesus et al are still unable to penetrate the Palace defense until the 40th minute.

Palace got a golden opportunity in the 41st minute. Odsonne Edouard’s header in front of goal was parried by Aaron Ramsdale.

Edouard made another chance just before half-time with a shot from close range. His efforts failed to meet the target, as well as closing the first half.

Palace took the initiative to attack after the break. Eberechi Eze’s kick ball in the penalty box in the 50th minute hit Ramsdale’s body.

Ramsdale again saved Arsenal’s goal eleven minutes later. He parried Jordan Ayew’s close-range header.

Arsenal back threatened in the 69th minute. Bukayo Saka’s kick ball from the right side still deviated from the Palace goal.

The home team continued to launch attacks through the two wing sectors. Arsenal’s rearguard meeting is still difficult to penetrate the Palace attack line.

GOL! Fun attacking, Palace actually conceded in the 84th minute. Saka’s shot from the right side of the penalty box hit Marc Guehi. The ball changes direction and goes into the Eagles goal.

The own goal also ensured Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the end of the match.
