The Council offers 2,181 places for Sports Schools, 580 newly created

The Department of Sports offers 2,181 places for activities of the Municipal Sports Schools network for the 2022-2023 academic year. Of the places offered, a total of 580 are newly created. In addition to the existing activities, there are another 15 that this year have a new call, among which are proposals such as table tennis and badminton at the Club de Mar de San Amaro, archery and artistic swimming at the Casino or triathlon, water polo and artistic swimming in Riazor.

All the activities are organized into five age groups, from six years old to those over sixty, in sections that group similar ages. There are activities aimed at a specific audience, such as those related to flexibility, which will be taught at the Riazor, and will be for people over 60 years of age; and toning with machines and Zumba, aimed at users over 18.

Among the newly created sports schools, there are also five activities adapted for people with disabilities, such as tennis and wheelchair basketball, table tennis, swimming and badminton. An inclusive sport proposal that follows in the footsteps of the pioneer Runki race, the superhero race promoted by the City Council and the Enki association. With the new additions, the offer of sports activities now adds up to 6,669 places, of which 4,802 belong to the Municipal Sports Schools. The pre-registration period begins on September 5 and can be formalized on the website www.coruna.gal/deportes. Apart from this offer, the registration period will be opened for the monthly or quarterly activities of the Club del Mar de San Amaro pool, with 532 places available.
