The Boltaña festivities are back in style

The summer of 2022 will be the one that marks a ‘before and after’ in the patron saint festivities of the towns. Boltaña is among all those territories that recover their ‘big parties’and the Coexistence Festivals They arrive in this municipality with the illusion of celebrating again with a remarkable poster designed for all audiences.

Although the Coexistence Festivals arrive in a few days, in Boltaña they have already started the preliminary acts organized by the City Council of Boltaña to the rhythm of rock in the Plaza Mayor de Boltaña with the Sobrarben group ‘Zapatiesto’, children’s futsal championships, badminton, tennis and paddle tennis tournaments, and also mixed 3×3 basketball for junior and senior categories supported by the Sobrarbe Basket Club, children’s puppets.

Although the Festivals of Coexistence begin ‘officially’ with the proclamation on Thursday, August 25, Wednesday 24 is reserved for the ‘boys and girls’ of parties, who will dine and dance in the Plaza Mayor of Boltaña in the traditional Coexistence Dinner, organized by the Boltaña City Council.

On Thursday, August 25, the ‘Palotiau de Boltaña’ kicks off with its traditional parade from Ordesa Avenue ending in the Plaza Mayor, where the proclamation that begins the Festival of Coexistence, hand in hand with the illustrious and beloved vecino boltañés Ramón Ferreira, Galician by birth, electrician by profession, model artist and year after year wonders wonders such as the well-known Belén de Boltaña.

The “Ingenio” orchestra will put rhythm to the afternoon and evening of Thursday 25th, making a prelude to Boltaña’s ‘big’ day: the local festival on August 26th, which will start the day with a water festival for the little ones of the house in the recreational area of ​​Villaboya. The afternoon of the 26th is reserved for the long-awaited ‘Ronda de Boltaña’, which returns to the streets of the town’s old town after the last Coexistence Festivities of 2019.

The Round of Boltaña will ‘haunt’ again through the streets of the old town with a plan requested by the group from Boltaña. There will be only 16 stops where they will sing their traditional songs, although they will go through all the traditional streets of their route.

After the Ronda de Boltaña, the Festivals of Coexistence will link up with the great performance of the well-known Nueva Era orchestra, which will provide entertainment on the night of Friday, August 26.

On Saturday, August 27, the activities organized by the Boltaña City Council will begin, offering a wide schedule for children’s activities at the Teresa Palacio municipal sports center. And the ‘Championship of Guiñote’ or the Festival of Jotas in the Eras Altas, sung by the well-known jotero Roberto Ciria and the Osca Artistic Company, cannot be missed on a day of festivities. The “Vendeta” orchestra ends the day with its performance in the Plaza Mayor de Boltaña.

It closes the Coexistence Festivities on Sunday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m., the mass with the Boltaña Choir in the San Pedro Apóstol Collegiate Church, a football game and family cinema in the afternoon, and the “Success” Orchestra and the traditional fireworks fireworks at midnight, bringing to an end the long-awaited festivities for all the citizens of Boltaña and the residents of the Sobrarbe region.
