The 13th Turtle Boat Rowing Contest was successfully held: Back News in the Age of 100

As part of the 61st Tongyeong Hansan Daecheop Festival, the Tongyeong Hansan Daecheop Cultural Foundation (Chairman Cheon Yeong-gi) held the 13th event on August 7 (Sun) in the water of Jukrim Bay with about 700 people in attendance, including townships, institutions and organizations, elementary, middle and high school student clubs, and cheering squads. A turtle boat rowing contest was held.

This competition has been held for the first time in three years after being unable to be held in the aftermath of COVID-19. The venue was changed from the previous Donam-dong to Jukrim Bay, and the elementary, middle and high school students were added to promote harmony with the participation of many citizens, especially from Tongyeong. Tongyeong Tourism Ambassador Heo Kyung-hwan and Dong-baek-i, the entertainers, further heightened the atmosphere of the competition.

15 teams from Eup, Myeon, Dong, 9 teams from institutional groups, and 12 teams from student division participated, and the fierce results of the competition, which started at 09:00, were △Eup, Myeon, Hansan-myeon △Dongbu Mujeon-dong △ Institutional group Sebyeong Badminton Club △Student Department Jeseok Elementary School, Tongyeong Middle School, Tongyeong Women’s Middle School Team A and Team B of Tongyeong High took first place, respectively, and trophies and prize money were awarded to the winning team.

Tongyeong Hansan Daecheop Cultural Foundation Chairman Cheon Yeong-gi said in the main speech of the event, “The Turtle Boat Rowing Contest was created in the sense of rethinking the hard work of the fierce warriors who were obscured by heroes and disappeared without a name. I hope it will be a time to strengthen and develop good skills,” encouraged the participating athletes.
