tests still mandatory for players not vaccinated against Covid-19

For the 2022-2023 season, weekly tests for players and staff members not vaccinated against Covid-19 will be maintained in the NBA.

In update of its health protocol, the NBA announced the end of mask wearing and mandatory testing for all. On the other hand, unvaccinated players and employees, such as the point guard Nets Kyrie Irving, remain in the crosshairs of the North American league and will have to continue to submit to weekly tests.

The press release sent to the 30 franchises also invites the vaccinated, who represent “ an overwhelming majority in the NBA to be up to date with their reminders. Adam Silver, commissioner of the NBA, prefers to remain vigilant. “I have learned over the past two and a half years not to make predictions when it comes to Covid, just to say that we will be prepared for whatever comes our way,” he recalled in mid-July.

This new NBA season will be on from October 18.
