Tatis Jr. apologizes to Los Padres and his fans for being suspended from MLB

Tatis was suspended 80 games on August 12 after MLB said he tested positive for Clostebol.

(NOTICIAS YA).-In a private meeting he held with his teammates from the San Diego Padres, Fernando Tatis Jr. apologized for testing positive for an anti-doping test, a situation that caused him to be suspended by Major League Baseball (MLB) .

The Dominican baseball player publicly expressed his remorse for the 80-game suspension that will keep him off the field well into next season.

“I’m really sorry for my mistakes,” the star shortstop said, along with team manager AJ Preller during a later news conference in the Padres’ dugout at Petco Park on Tuesday, according to ESPN.

“I have seen how my dreams have become my worst nightmares. There is no one else to blame but myself. I have not made the right decisions in these last two weeks, months, even the beginning of the year. I made a mistake and I regret every step I’ve taken,” said 23-year-old El Niño.

Tatis, one of baseball’s brightest stars, was suspended 80 games on Aug. 12 after MLB said he tested positive for Clostebol, an anabolic steroid.

Tatis had originally mentioned that she accidentally took a drug containing the banned substance to treat ringworm after dealing with a skin infection for some time, which is how she tested positive soon after.

He admitted that the drug was sent to him from the Dominican Republic, where it can be purchased at any pharmacy (unlike in the United States), and that he used it without consulting the Padres’ medical staff.

“There are no excuses… I need to do a much better job of knowing what is going on inside my body,” he declared.

The player promised to do better in the future for the fans and that he will do everything humanly possible to “redeem” himself to them.

“There is no one else to blame but myself… I made a mistake. I’m going to remember what this feels like and I’m not going to put myself in this position anymore… I have a lot of work to do, it’s going to be a very long process,” he added.

Fernando Tatis Jr. also announced that he will undergo another surgery, this time on his left shoulder, as soon as possible.
