Starting XI debut against Wolfsburg? This FCB star must make room for de Ligt

Matthijs de Ligt has been on the bench twice so far and had to settle for a reserve role. According to Julian Nagelsmann, the Dutchman is not yet at 100 percent physically. Against VfL Wolfsburg, however, the central defender is about to make his starting eleven debut for FC Bayern.

While most Bayern stars enjoyed their day off from training yesterday, Monday, Matthijs de Ligt (once again) put in an extra shift on Säbener Straße. The Dutchman would like to make up for his fitness deficit as quickly as possible, which he still had until the end due to a lack of real preparation for the season.

Does Hernandez have to give way for De Ligt?

As the “BILD” reports, de Ligt is a candidate for the starting eleven for the upcoming home game against VfL Wolfsburg for the first time. According to the newspaper, the central defender was in team training for the final game in the so-called “A-Team” with Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard on Tuesday. Lucas Hernandez would have to vacate his place in the first eleven for de Ligt.

The summer new signing was allowed 12 minutes against Leipzig in the DFL Supercup. It was only enough for eight minutes for the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt.
