Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter Leandro Lo passed away on Sunday at the age of 33. As the Brazilian news portal “G1” reports, he was shot in a club in São Paulo.
According to the lawyer for the Los family, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu fighter is said to have previously clashed with a military police officer.
A friend Los described the incident to the news portal: “He (the policeman) came in and took a bottle from our table. Lo only held him back to calm him down.” After that, the MP reportedly moved a few steps away and shot Lo in the head.
The alleged perpetrator has now been arrested and investigations have been initiated. Leandro Lo was an eight-time world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
