Miguel Cabrerain a season where he was the Most Valuable Player in 2012 with Detroit Tigerswas the last to achieve the so-called Triple Crown in the Major League Baseball (MLB), milestone that prompted him to win the award.

But, What is the Triple Crown in baseball? It is that player who, at the end of the season, is the leader in his league, be it American or National, in batting average, home runs and runs batted in. A statistic that not many have achieved throughout history.

Cabrera was the last to do it in the MLB, particularly in the American League with the Tigers, but one of the great stars of the Saint Louis Cardinals threatens to take away this crown at the end of the year. Bolavip tells you the details.

Paul Goldschmidt challenges Miguel Cabrera in an MLB record

Paul Goldschmidt is having a dream season for the Saint Louis Cardinals in 2022, putting them among the favorites to reach the World Series by side with a competitive National League.

The Missouri State franchise first baseman he leads the league in batting average (.338), is second in home runs (33, two off the lead) and is tied for first in RBIs (105 along with a Pete Alonso).

Should he accomplish the feat, Goldschmidt would become the first Major League Baseball player to win the Triple Crown since Cabrera in 2012, and the first National League player since, in the same franchise, Joe Medwick awarded it to him in 1937.
