Saint-Etienne held in check at Quevilly-Rouen and still in the negative

The Greens have -1 point in the standings after three days.

AS Saint-Etienne, trailing 2-0 at the half-hour mark, snatched a draw (2-2) on Monday at Quevilly-Rouen after a match that could leave the Stéphanois with regrets, still in negative territory after the 3rd day of the Ligue 2 championship.

Picked cold on goals from Boé-Kane (13th) and Gbelle (32nd), who exploited the feverishness of the Saint-Etienne rearguard, Laurent Batlles’ team reacted superbly, first thanks to a number of soloist from Krasso in the area (37′) then by a spectacular half-volley from Cafaro (45’+1).

Penalized by three points at the end of the 2021-22 season for incidents at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, the Stéphanois still show a negative balance sheet (-1 pt) and remain the red lantern in Ligue 2, 8 points behind the top three (Guingamp, Bordeaux and Caen). Quevilly-Rouen is 14th with 2 points.
