RWE: Krasniqi change burst, Rüth about to leave, Schlüsselburg without an offer

While Rot-Weiss Essen is still looking for reinforcements, RWE would also like to give up three players who play a minor sporting role.

Fabian Rüth, Felix Schluesselburg and Erolind Krasniqi allowed to Red and white food despite valid contracts until June 30, 2023. The trio still has time to find new employers until the transfer deadline on Thursday at 6 p.m.

“These are young players, for whose development it is important that they spend many minutes on the pitch. Given the current situation, that will not be the case with us. That’s why we wouldn’t put any obstacles in the boys’ way if they made a change,” said RWE sports director Jörn Nowak in early August.

The trio in RWE figures

Erolind Krasniqi: 36 games, 11 goals, 5 assists

Fabian Rüth: 6 games, 2 goals, no assist

Felix Schluesselburg: 2 games, 3 goals, no assists

Currently – as of Monday, August 29 – it looks like only one of these three potential departures will find a new club. After Luca Dürholtz (SV Elversberg), Fabian Rüth is about to make a change. According to RevierSport information, he is also drawn to a regional league representative in the south-west of the republic. Rüth only came to RWE from TSG Hoffenheim last winter.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, a move from Erolind Krasniqi to Alemannia Aachen failed. RevierSport had reported on the interest of the Kaiserstadt residents. “Yes, I can reveal that we would have liked to see ‘Ero’ with us. But – as of today – this change will not come about,” explains Helge Hohl, Aachen’s sports director, when asked by RS.

According to our information, the change fails due to the financial discrepancies between Aachen and Essen – means: According to RS information, Alemannia only wanted to take over a small percentage of the Krasniqi salary. RWE should continue to pay well over 50 percent of the salary and put a stop to this deal.

The situation at Schliiselburg is similarly complicated. Here, too, according to RS information, some clubs have shown interest and, due to different financial ideas, ultimately gave up on a commitment. There is currently no offer from another club in Schloßburg. Krasniqi and Schlüsselburg have until Thursday, September 1 (6 p.m.) to find new employers or continue to sit in the stands at RWE.
