Another big (sensitive) subject of this open-hearted interview, Romelu Lukaku returned to the reasons for his departure but also and above all for his return: “I left because I wanted to take this revenge at Chelsea because when I was young it was my team for 11 years. I had the opportunity to go back there and I thought I was going to have an important role, but it never did.” explains the Belgian. Before continuing, a little bitterly: “I think in a year everyone has forgotten the things I am capable of on the pitch. It’s a kind of anger that I have inside of me.”
An anger that the Belgian also felt in the Inter locker room on his return after missing the Scudetto last season. A locker room in which Lukaku had to find his place, especially with the bosses Marcelo Brozovich et Nicolo Barella : “They didn’t charge me for leaving. When I came back I just had to sing and buy dinner for the whole team but that’s just normal“, says the Belgian, laughing.
