Reinaldo Rueda sounds to direct Stiven Mendoza’s Ceará Sporting Club in Brazil | Colombians Abroad

After not being able to qualify with the Colombian National Team for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Reinaldo Rueda has taken a few months to rest and shake off the elimination as coach of the national coffee team.

However, almost five months have passed since the last game that Rueda led with Colombia, and Reinaldo’s name is beginning to be mentioned as a coach option to return to activity.

Thus, this Wednesday from Brazil it was learned that a Brasileirão club would be interested in hiring the Colombian coach, to make a leap in quality in his level of competitiveness.

And it is that the team that has Rueda in the folder, comes from being a sensation in the South American Cup, and dreams of reaching higher and appearing on the continent.

As reported ‘balloon sport’, Ceará SC is the team that has Reinaldo Rueda in its sights, after the departure of Marquinhos Santos from the bench.

Ceará comes from being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana 2022 by Sao Paulo, in the penalty shootout. This team, where Stiven Mendoza plays, played 10 games in the Cup, of which they won 9 and only lost 1, in addition to only conceding four goals in the competition.

Rueda is remembered in Brazil for managing Flamengo in 2017, directing 31 games, with 13 wins, ten draws and eight losses.
