Big imbroglio on the occasion of the qualifying round at the CAN de Beach Soccer between Morocco and the Ivory Coast. After their surprise 7-6 first leg victory, the Elephants stood up to the Atlas Lions on Saturday at the Mohammed VI Complex in Maâmora.

In the last moments of the match, when the score was 3-3, the Libyan referee of the match, Yahya Abdelghani, however whistled a penalty in favor of Morocco, likely to revive everything. Angry at this decision deemed unjustified, the Ivorians decided to leave the field in protest… never to return!

A priori, the African Football Confederation (CAF) should therefore act in the coming days the qualification by forfeit of Morocco, which will join Mozambique (host country), Nigeria and Senegal among the selections having already validated their ticket for the final phase.
