Rafael Santos Borre assist in Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Magdeburg in German Cup | Colombians Abroad

Rafael Santos Borre started the season brilliantly Germany. With the base of the team that won the Europa League plus Mario Götzethe Eintracht Frankfurtrival of Real Madrid in the European Super Cup, qualified with solvency for the round of 32 from german cup after overcoming Magdeburg 0-4 with a brace from the Japanese Daichi Kamadathe second to a pass from Barranquilla.

Magdeburg, a team from Second divisiononly resisted during a section of the first part, in which Eintracht noticed the absence of Martin Hintereggerretired by surprise when the season ended at just 29 years old.

His absence, for the moment, has left a hole in the rear of the German team. The Austrian central defender was life insurance for Eintracht, who, without him, have not yet managed to find the balance they need for the back area to function as an almost perfect machine. That is where the German team erred the most, with a line of three centre-backs not being able to hold Magdeburg center forward Moritz Kwarteng.

Almamy Touré, Tuta and Obite Ndicka have not yet put the puzzle together well despite the fact that sometimes it works, as in the last European final against Rangers in which Hinteregger no longer played and Eintracht triumphed.

On this occasion they benefited from the poor success of Kwarteng, who did not have the right point of view and missed some very clear chances after a hectic start in which Eintracht took the lead through Kamada after four minutes and Magdeburg wasted a penalty at seven.

Kevin Trapp guessed Andreas Müller’s intentions and his teammates breathed easy. Trapp’s success and Kwarteng’s subsequent failures allowed Eintracht to go into the break with a two-goal lead. And it is that, after half an hour, Jesper Lindstrom, with a great shot from outside the area, opened a gap in the scoreboard that Kamada later completed again.

The Japanese midfielder proved to be a great striker and, just like in the first goal, in the third he showed his credentials with a great shot coming from the second row after a great pivot by Borré.

And, with the 0-3, when the match was winding down, the Argentine Lucas Alario appeared to culminate the party. After having replaced the Colombian, Alario did not forgive and Eintracht won 0-4 to show that, nine days before facing Real Madrid, he is in good form.
