Paris St. Germain deals with the next top player from RB Leipzig!

With Nordi Mukiele (24) Leipzig already gave a star to PSG this summer. Now the club from Paris is also dealing with defensive professional Mohamed Simakan (22). This is reported by the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe”.

Will PSG grab the next Leipzig star?

According to the report, PSG are still looking for a centre-back. The first choice should be Milan Skriniar (27) from Inter Milan. The central defender has a market value of €65m. However, should the Slovak’s transfer fail, Simakan would be the second choice.

According to “L’Equipe” there have even been initial talks between PSG and Leipzig. In addition, PSG should be ready to offer their own defenders in exchange. This could also include Thilo Kehrer (25), who currently plays no role at PSG. According to the article, Leipzig is calling for 40 million euros for Simakan. Its market value is approximately EUR 22 million.

However, a central defender in Leipzig, Lukas Klostermann (26), has just been injured, and the national player will be out for the foreseeable future with a torn syndesmosis ligament. He was injured in the game at VfB Stuttgart (1-1). That’s why Leipzig can’t afford to sell Simakan at the moment. In addition, RB is currently looking for another defender.

Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco denies the speculation: “Rumors are normal, but there is definitely nothing to it.”

Simakan moved from RC Strasbourg to RB Leipzig in 2021 for around €15m. In his debut season he made a total of 40 competitive appearances, 28 of them in the Bundesliga. In the 1-1 draw in Stuttgart at the start of the Bundesliga, the Frenchman was only on the bench but was substituted on in the closing stages.

The central defender’s chances of playing have increased after Klostermann’s injury. So currently it doesn’t look like Simakan will switch to PSG.
