Vincent Jannink is sometimes very tense as a photographer at football matches. In recent years there have been more and more irregularities.

“At FC Twente and Heracles, the beer showers just kept going,” says photographer Vincent Jannink at RTV Oost. “It seems as if football has acted even more as an outlet since the corona pandemic. Throwing beer is now very topical. If you are unlucky, then pee.” they even in those cups and you get that on your neck. But coins, lighters and fireworks also fly through the air. Yes, that sort of thing gets on my head sometimes. And I can tell you, when it’s thrown from above, then it hits hard.”

They hope for measures: more space between the public and photographers, stricter enforcement and safer parking spaces. “At Twente I always have to walk by with all my equipment in front of the supporters’ base after the game. That creates tension during loaded matches.”

He no longer enjoys it. “Is it still fun? No, no”, Jannink is clear. “Look, following the game is still fun, but the side effects make you think: I really wouldn’t want to be here. It’s just a total lack of respect.”
