Former soccer player Paulo Futre is stable at the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon after suffering a heart attack after attending his mother’s funeral. Born on February 28, 1966 in the Portuguese city of Montijo, Paulo Futre made his debut in the highest category of Portuguese football wearing the Sporting de Portugal shirt, although he rose to fame during his time at Porto, a team to which he belonged for three seasons and with which he lifted two leagues, a Portuguese Super Cup and a European Cup.
In 1987 he joined Atlético as the star signing of Jesús Gil, recently elected as president of the mattress entity.
