Paul Barjon almost says goodbye to his last chances to save his card

On waivers to retain full greens next year, John Huh had his career perf on Thursday at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro. The American returned a breathtaking 61 which allows him to settle alone at the head of the last tournament of the regular season. Very complicated start on the other hand for Paul Barjon (photo) that only a top 3 can save.

“It’s a bit strange because I didn’t feel very comfortable in my game and I signed my best card in my career”, told John Huh at the exit of its 18th hole.

Passed in 29 on the way with in particular a series of 5 consecutive birdies, the New Yorker has almost returned all his putts of less than 3 meters and investigated a long putt for eagle at 15 which allows him to take 2 shots advance.

Only second behind Huh, the South Korean Sunjae Im does not have to worry about his place on the circuit next year.

He is the only player in the top 10 of the FedEx Cup to line up this week in North Carolina and a good result here could guarantee him a place in the Tour Championship at the end of the month in Atlanta.

His 63 of the day is his second best score of the season. The time he did better was when he victory at the Shriners Children’s Open in October last year.

Fowler a danger

Among the players navigating in troubled waters, let us note the good beginnings of Brian Stuard137th overall before this tournament and projected 124th with his provisional 5th place.

Satisfactory finding also for Austin Smotherman125th after the withdrawal from the list of 10 “rebels” parties on the LIFE Golf and author of a 65 which could allow him to finish the season on the right side of the ax.

It didn’t start very well, however. Rickie Fowler who would lose 4 places after his 71 of the day and would therefore qualify for the first Playoffs tournament in a week in Memphis (St Jude Championship).

An elimination also synonymous with partial playing rights in 2023 for the former world number 4!

Paul Barjon in trouble

Leaded by 10 very delicate first holes, the Frenchman Paul Barjon will have a hard time reversing the trend on Friday and reviving to seek a top 3, the only result synonymous with a return to the top 125 of the FedEx Cup and therefore full playing rights next season.

1 double, 2 bogeys and a triple from the start of the return have very seriously mortgaged the Habs’ chances of shining this week.

3 birdies on the last 5 of the hole of the day still offer him a breath of fresh air but his 141st place, 5 shots from the provisional cut and 15 shots from the leader, sounds like a setback.
