Crystal Palace had just seven shots with three on target. Palace also lost heavily in possession, 27 per cent to 73 per cent.

“Anfield is not an easy place to come. We played well by defending well, prepared to suffer and did it,” he explained.

“Look at us playing calmly and with discipline. The first 20-30 minutes were tough, but after that we were able to play our game,” he added.

Patrick Vieira knows, Liverpool is a team that is good at dominating opponents. So it seems, one point that Crystal Palace brought home was so valuable.

“When we win the ball, that’s where Zaha will run. He could have scored more than one goal tonight,” concluded the former Arsenal player.
