Oviedo reaches an agreement with Jirka to terminate his contract

The first piece of the salary-cap puzzle is close to falling into place. Oviedo finalizes the details of an agreement with Erik Jirka for the termination of the contract that united both parties. The Slovakian, who has known for several days that he is not in Bolo’s plans, will end his relationship with the blue team in an operation that allows Tito Blanco to gain some air in the salary cap in order to be able to register the new players before the league premiere, on August 15, against Andorra at the Carlos Tartiere.

Jirka was the first one pointed out in the face of the “exit operation”, an important alternative for the Oviedo squad to fit into the narrow margins that La Liga marks with its economic control regulations. Tito has been fighting the rescission for several days, an agreement that runs parallel to the capital increase that Pachuca plans to give greater economic consistency to its project.

Jirka signed last summer with Oviedo, backed by his remarkable campaign, his first in Spain, in the ranks of Mirandés. After reaching an agreement with the Red Star, Jirka signed with the Blues for two seasons plus another optional one. But he never reached the potential that he had shown with José Alberto López in Anduva.

The Slovak started in a complicated situation due to the fight for ownership, since Sangalli had the indisputable band on the right wing of the attack. What broke the script was the emergence of youth squad Viti, a basic piece in Ziganda’s schemes last year.

Jirka was left with the role of revulsive, limited its effect to the second parts, trying to take advantage of its explosiveness. In that role, too, he failed to demonstrate his potential. With Cuco, the Slovakian participated in 19 games, only 7 as a starter. He also played in the only Cup match, in which he scored his only goal in the blue shirt.

Looking ahead to the next course, his situation has not changed. He has, in theory, Viti and Sangalli ahead of him in the bid for ownership. Bolo has no confidence in his game and the Slovakian has stopped participating in recent friendlies. Even then his departure was being negotiated with his representative.

Although the agreement seemed distant, Tito dropped it in his last speech before the media, in the last few hours the differences have been ironed out and the only thing left is to document the understanding. Jirka has received the interest of some Second teams.
