To participate, athletes competed for the championship, runner-up and third runner-up in 20 levels for men and women from August 9 to 10.
There are 4 competition groups in the competition: men’s A, B and women’s A and B. The competition items cover 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg There are a total of 40 levels of competition, such as the 81kg, 90kg and so on. After fierce competition, Wen Boxu, a delegation from Xicheng District, won the gold medal in the men’s A group over 100kg, which is the first gold medal born in the 16th Beijing Games. Including the first gold medal, a total of 20 judo gold medals were produced in the competition that day, including 18 gold medals in the men’s A and B groups, and 2 in the women’s A and B indiscriminate groups.
Judo is an advantageous sport in Beijing. Every year, Beijing sends a certain number of outstanding judo athletes to the national team.
