Nyck de Vries tackled hard by colleague: “Hope he never makes it to Formula 1”

Nyck de Vries has taken the wrath of Pascal Wehrlein during the last Formula E race of the season. The former Formula 1 driver let his frustrations run wild after an incident with the Dutchman and came up with a number of peppery comments.

The final race of the season in Seoul ended in tears for the former Mercedes protégé on Sunday. The German driver was engaged in a fierce battle with De Vries for thirteenth place, but the man from Sneek did not give up easily and the pair eventually crashed in turn 13, bringing Wehrlein’s race to an abrupt end.

Frustrations on board radio

De Vries was eventually found guilty of the incident and the Mercedes test driver was given a symbolic five-second penalty, even though his race had already ended and he was in the pit box. Wehrlein let his frustrations run wild on the Porsche board radio shortly after the incident. “I hope he never makes it to Formula 1”, the German shouted in pure frustration, after which he also labeled De Vries as a ‘f*cking idiot’.
