New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will undergo right knee arthroscopy on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Wilson suffered a bone contusion and is suffering from a torn meniscus. Those injuries came during the Jets’ second offensive series Friday in their preseason game in Philadelphia.
The meniscus repair procedure, which will be performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache, will determine how long Wilson will be out. Wilson is expected to be out for two to four weeks based on initial testing, but he may be out longer depending on the condition of the knee during surgery.

It was initially feared that Wilson suffered a serious injury that could potentially end his season.
Post-match tests indicated the anterior cruciate ligament was intact, but a magnetic resonance imaging test on Saturday morning revealed the bony bruise and torn meniscus.
There remains a chance that Wilson could play in the season opener against Baltimore on Sept. 11. Otherwise, veteran Joe Flacco, who led the first-team offense on Sunday, would start in Wilson’s place against his old team.
