Demaryius Thomasformer recipient of the Denver Broncos and winner of Super Bowldied for complications of seizure disorder, according to an autopsy report from the medical examiner’s office Fulton County.
Thomas was found dead in his home Roswell, Georgia, on December 9, 2021, at the age of 33. Although an autopsy was performed the following day, the cause of death remained pending.
In the final report it is said that Thomas’s manner of death remains undeterminedas it is unknown whether the seizure disorder was the result of natural causes or due to multiple head injuries sustained during his NFL career.
Last month, researchers at the boston university they told ABC News that the receiver had suffered a chronic traumatic encephalopathydegenerative brain disease, but that had not been the cause of death.

The autopsy also detailed that Thomas, who was found dead in his shower, had traces of nicotine and marijuana in their systembut neither was listed as a contributing factor in his death.
At the time of his death, family members and former colleagues of Thomas said publicly that the 33-year-old he had suffered from seizures about a year before he died.
Thomas announced his retirement from the NFL in June 2021, after arriving in the league in 2010. He finished his career as the second-best all-time receiver for the Broncos in passing yards and third in receptions.
