The “Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament”, which was organized for the second time this year by Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club (ÇBSK) with the support of Çorlu Municipality and lasted for 3 days, came to an end.
Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt, who participated in the tournament, said, “We all feel the sadness of losing Ziya. He was the captain of our basketball team and he was a cheerful person. “We are always looking for and remembering him.”
The “Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament”, which was organized for the second time this year by the Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club (ÇBSK) with the support of Çorlu Municipality, in memory of the athlete Ziya Berhan Kılıç, who lost his life last year, came to an end.
IT STARTED WITH AIR SHOOTS
The tournament, attended by 65 teams from many cities as well as Tekirdağ, started with the aerial shots of Çorlu Deputy Mayor Kemaleddin Avcı and Ziya Berhan Kılıç’s father, Can Kılıç, following the video screening prepared in memory of Ziya Berhan Kılıç. Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 team participated in the tournament with 24 teams in 4 groups for big men, hope men, young men, star men and little men, 8 teams in 2 groups, 65 teams for big women and 5 teams for small women, and 250 athletes. Street Basketball Tournament was held in Hürriyet Mahallesi Nazım Hikmet Ran Park with the support of many sponsor companies. While the athletes participating in the tournament were fighting for the championship in 165 breathtaking competitions, Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt followed the tournament from the beginning to the end and chatted with the basketball lovers who came to watch the matches.
MIDDLE FIELD SHOOT COMPETITIONS ORGANIZED
40 teams competed on the first day of the competitions held in two separate crucibles. Award-winning shooting competitions were also held in the area where the 1st and 2nd round matches were played. In addition to basketball competitions, eating and shooting competitions from the midfield were held in the tournament. One of the important events of the first day was the Zumba show staged by the Çorlu Zumba team. The participants of the dance event performed by the Çorlu Zumba team on the stage immersed themselves in the rhythm of the music, regardless of age. Young zumba fans also made great efforts to keep up with the lively music in the show, which lasted for about an hour. The Çorlu Zumba team and the citizens who accompanied them to the end received great applause from the audience.
CULTURAL TOUR ORGANIZED
A cultural tour was organized for the athletes participating in the Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament, which included Atatürk House, Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum and Fairy Tale Park. Athletes signed the memory book at Atatürk House and had a souvenir photo taken in front of Atatürk House, Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum and Masal Park. On the second day of the tournament, where competitions were played in big men, hopeful men, young men, star men and little men, big women and small women groups, the CrossFit show, which was performed by the Diamond Sport Center team, consisting of Olympic weightlifting, basic gymnastics and athletics movements, won the appreciation of the audience. The three-point shooting competition in the basketball tournament was also the scene of great contention. The competition and shows ended with an eating contest. On the 2nd day of the tournament, before the closing competitions, Grupİlk played an enjoyable evening with their beautiful songs, while the audience sang along to Grup Gibi’s songs in unison.
THE STRUGGLES HAPPENED TO KIRAN
On the last day of the tournament, when the semi-finals and final matches were played, the excitement peaked and the struggles were fierce. It was recorded that approximately 10 thousand basketball lovers watched the tournament, which lasted for 3 days. Yiğithan Efe Küçükdemir won the Eating Contest organized within the scope of the tournament, Batuhan Bahçe won the Midfield Shot Contest, Aytuğ Çelik the Three Point Shooting Contest and Muhammed Lamin (Med Brodi) won the Slam Dunk Contest. The last day of the tournament continued with semi-finals and final matches. With the completion of the semi-finals, at the end of the final competitions played in a single pot and very competitive, the Black Hole team in the Big Men defeated the Ata Gelişim Çorlu team and became the champion. At the end of the competitions, Ata Gelişim Çorlu was second and KZN was third, while Batuhan Farizoğlu and Mehmet Kaygun were selected as the most valuable athletes of the group. Defeating the Fimba Europe Team at the end of the championship race in the Big Women category, The Just That Team declared the championship, while Zvezda finished third in the group. İclal Duranoğlu was selected as the most valuable player of the group.
GAVE A SPECIAL COLOR TO THE TOURNAMENT
Banu Karadağlı, the only female athlete in the world who plays basketball actively in her age category, added a different color to the tournament by competing with the Fimba Europe Team. After the exciting fights in the Men’s category, FMV Işık won the championship by defeating UA Çerkezköy in the final. After UA Çerkezköy, the Sleeveless team finished the tournament with the third place. The most valuable player of the group was Yağız Alp Şahin. The competition in the Young Men category was also the scene of exciting and breathtaking struggles. At the end of the struggles that lasted until the last second, Seconun Roses defeated the Powerpuff Girls team to reach the championship. Çaçaa team, on the other hand, took the third place in the group. The title of the most valuable athlete of the group was given to Sait Nurullah Çiftçi. After tough matches in the Star Men category, the Municipality’s Angels team defeated Team Boi and became the champion, while the Nevermind team took the third place. Beyti Çağatay Şakacı became the most valuable athlete of the group. Defeating Gelişim Çorlu team in the Junior Boys category, Arslanlar became the champion, while Ata Gelişim finished third in the group. İbrahim Etem Kızıl was chosen as the most valuable player of the group. At the end of the contentious matches played in the Junior Women category, the Fairies of the Crucible won the championship. Büyükkarşıranspor came in second and Basketball Birds came in third. Zeynep Ada Özgöç was chosen as the most valuable athlete of the group.
