Participation in the course does not require any special previous knowledge, and those returning to the course are also very welcome.

speyer From the beginning of September, the 1st Shotokan Karate Club Speyer is offering free beginner courses for six weeks to get to know the Far Eastern martial arts karate and kendo.

Karate is always on Fridays from the 09.09.22 trained, at 5:15 p.m. the children (from the age of 7) and then at 6:45 p.m. the adults (and young people from the age of 14) start in the sports hall of the Pfalz-Kolleg in Butenschönstr. 2 in Speyer.

Karate training is divided into Kihon, Kata and Kumite. In elementary school (Kihon), the techniques are practiced cleanly and neatly without a partner. In a kata, a fixed sequence of attack and defense techniques is performed, representing a fight against imaginary opponents. Kumite (fight) is trained with a partner. At the beginning, attack and defense are also firmly prescribed here, but gradually the more experienced fighters break away from the specifications, so that at the end there is free fighting.

The kendo course takes place from the 10.09.22 for young people from the age of 15 and adults in the sports hall of the Zeppelin School at Neuffertstraße 1 in Speyer. Training is every Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Kendo is a modern style of original Japanese sword fighting as learned and practiced by the samurai. Nowadays, kendo is practiced as a competitive sport, although the traditional aspects still play an important role.

Participation in the course does not require any special previous knowledge, and those returning to the course are also very welcome. The participants only need comfortable sportswear, they train barefoot. Karate and Kendo offer individual full-body training for all age groups and stress body and mind. Coordination, fitness, concentration and self-confidence are promoted with fun and in the community. Our experienced team of trainers will accompany you.
