NBA: Brooklyn Nets sign Japanese player Yuta Watanabe

Yuta Watanabe will try to convince the Brooklyn Nets of his usefulness within a workforce composed of stars. The 27-year-old winger signed a deal on Sunday with the franchise of Kevin Durant – finally ready to stay – and Kyrie Irving for the upcoming training camp, as announced througha statement posted on social media.

Undrafted when he left the NCAA system in 2018, the native of Yokohama had immediately played in the Summer League with the Nets, before being spotted by other teams. If the New Yorkers have not revealed the outlines of the contract that he initialed, the main interested party recalled on social networks that his future was not assured while thanking his fans.

Since his arrival in the NBA, Watanabe has played 121 games divided between Memphis and Toronto, shooting 3.8 points on 40.9% shooting including 35.2% from three points, and 2.5 rebounds in 12 minutes of play in mean.
