Nationals win silver at World Junior Judo Championship

Turkey won the silver medal in the mixed team competition held on the last day of the World Junior Judo Championship.

According to the statement made by the Turkish Judo Federation, the organization held in Guayaquil, Ecuador has come to an end.

The national mixed junior team beat Japan 4-0 in the final game and came second.

L’équipe nationale, composée d’Özlem Yıldız, Fidan Ögel, Hilal Öztürk, Habibe Afyonlu, Ayten Yeksan, Ayşenur Karadağ, Merve Azak, Cem Ata Demirtaş, Muhammed Demirel et Münir Ertuğ, a traversé le premier tour sans match et a battu la Géorgie dans le quarts de finale avec le 4. 3 temps.

Defeating Brazil 4-2 in the semi-finals, the national team faced Japan for the gold medal. Losing the match 4-0, the national team won the silver medal.

Turkey ranked third after Japan and France with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze in the organization’s individual competitions.
