Murray followed the fight against Banchero on his Instagram • Diario Democracia

While the NBA season hasn’t started yet, the action takes place in training camps where the stars of the league spend hours playing together to warm up their engines. On the courts you can see the unequal attitude that the players maintain, some having fun and others playing at a high intensity level. An example of this last group is Dejounte Murray, the brand new perimeter player who joined the Atlanta Hawks in this market.

Over the weekend, Murray had a matchup with No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Paolo Banchero. The tension between the two escalated until the 25-year-old All Star last season made a play on the rookie that made him look ridiculous. He hit his body with the ball and ends up with an alley-oop auto dunk. Celebrating the basket, he threw the ball to the Orlando Magic player.

“He unfollowed me on Instagram and everything must be very personal right? Okay make sure you stand up for me next time and stop double-tagging me,” Paolo Banchero wrote after the match.

Dejounte’s response was not long in coming and this Monday he used his Instagram to dedicate a few words to his opponent: “You tried to spare me with number 1 in the Draft when I always supported you when you were a child. Don’t fall for that internet thing of not saying nothing. You are no longer that humble boy that you were. And you know it. You lost all my respect. Be humble, your life is real now, “Murray launched.

The 19-year-old rookie did not remain silent after these accusations and replied: “I have always been that humble boy who praised you, brother, do not change the narrative on the internet,” he said, trying to cool down the controversy a bit by being more humble and with his feet on earth.
